Your notes are yours

Momenotes is a planner and notebook. It doesn't show what you write to anyone, sell it or use it for advertising. This page explains what information is kept, where it is stored and how it is deleted.

In short

Information we keep

Account

You sign in with Google, with your email address and a password, or (on iPhone and iPad) with Apple. For sign-in, your name (if you gave one), your email address and a user ID are kept. We cannot see your password; the sign-in service stores it only in encrypted form. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email address. The sign-in service is provided by Google Firebase.

Language

The app's language is taken from your phone's language. A language you choose by hand is kept only on your device.

What you write

Planner pages, notes, handwriting, the photos and PDFs you add, reminders, habits and your settings are saved first on your device and then, if you signed in, in a cloud space linked to your account (Google Firebase). The only purpose of this is to let you open the same notebook on all your devices.

Location

If you allow it, the device location is used to show the holidays of the country you are in and the sun times of your city in the calendar. Country and city are found with a map inside the phone; no service is asked for your location. Only an approximate city (rounded to about 1 km) is kept in your account, so that your other devices show the same city. If you don't allow location access, you can choose your city by hand.

Google Calendar

Only if you ask for it, permission is requested to read the events in your Google Calendar. The events are shown to you; only the ones you choose are added as reminders. Nothing is written to your calendar. The permission key stays only on your device.

Camera and photos

The camera and your photo library are accessed only when you want to add a photo or save a page.

Launch notice

If you leave your email address on the website, it is kept only to tell you once when Momenotes arrives in the stores. Nothing else is sent, and it is not shared with anyone. The list is deleted after the notice is sent. If you want it deleted sooner, write to us.

Handwriting recognition

What you write in pen on the phone and tablet is turned into text on the device so that it can be found by search. For recognition, a language file is downloaded the first time; your writing is never sent anywhere for recognition.

Who it is shared with

Your information is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers. Only these service providers are used to run the app: Google Firebase (sign-in and cloud space), Apple (Sign in with Apple and notifications on iPhone and iPad) and Google (Sign in with Google and, if you ask for it, Google Calendar).

How long it is kept and how it is deleted

Your data is kept until you delete it. When you delete a page, it disappears from all your devices. In the app, Delete my account in the account panel permanently deletes your account and all your data in the cloud; this step cannot be undone. If you signed in with email, you are asked for your password before deleting. Before deleting, you can take everything as a single file with Download backup.

Your rights

Under Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), you have the right to access your data and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted. You can do most of this yourself from inside the app; for anything else, write to us. The laws of the country you are in (for example the GDPR in the European Union) may give you the same or broader rights; you can write to the same address to use them too.

Children

Momenotes is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.
