CALENDAR AND LOCATION

The calendar of whichever country you are in

Public holidays don't come from a fixed list. Whatever country you are in, its holidays go into the calendar: more than 200 countries, including regional days such as those of the German states. When you travel abroad, the calendar comes with you.

In Turkey, the holy nights, Ramadan and Sacrifice Feasts and their eves come from the table published by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), ready until 2035. Days of remembrance and celebration such as Mother's Day and Teachers' Day, equinoxes and solstices are in the calendar too.

The phase of the moon and the sun times are calculated on the device. If you are in the southern hemisphere, the longest day falls in December; the calendar knows that too.

Your location never leaves your phone. Country and city are found with a map inside the phone; no service is asked. The city your phone finds is also used on your e-ink tablet, which has no GPS, and on your computer. If you prefer, you pick your city by hand.
